CUTTY NEWS
02-16-2009 The Cutthroats host the #1 team in the nation on Sunday
the 22nd, when they face the Dragons in the first ever playoff game for the Cutthroats.
02-03-2009 The Cutthroats fans are in for a show at halftime this
Sunday when Strange Condition takes the stage and performs an acoustic set!
The Cutthroats will hold their regular training sessions tonight and tomorrow
as they prepare for the most important game of the season. All Head Coach Taylor Gallegos said when asked about this
weekends game was "let's do work"!
01-26-2009 The Cutthroats have now won back to back games against
Pikes Peak and the Fury and are now in a position to make nationals with a win on February 8th at home against Pikes Peak.
The Cutthroats beat Pikes Peak on the road
by a score of 7 to 6 lead by a pair of goals from Simon Fredericks. Chris Clopper, Adam Bauer, C.J. Eims and Ben Mayer
also added to the scoreline.
Last nights game against
the Fury was as physical and as intense as indoor soccer gets! The Fury brought help from numerous players from the
Lightning (professional indoor team), but it didn't matter as the Cutthroats downed their rivals 4 to 3 and kept their
tournament hopes alive!
01-20-2009 The Cutthroats have dropped three games in a row now
and this Saturdays game against Pikes Peak is a must win game if the Cutthroats have any hope of making Nationals.
The Cutthroats again would like to thank their fans for coming to the last away
game and supporting us in such large numbers! Thank you for all your support!
12-21-2008 Last night the Cutthroats completed their sweep
of the Fort Collins Nah Nahs by a score of 8-3. The Cutthroats were on the road but their fans showed up in full force
as they had more fans than the home side! Simon Fredericks scored a hat-trick and added an assist on the night and the
Cutthroats keeper Daniel Sidder posted 35 saves including a penalty kick save! The Nah Nahs were never in the game as
the score at the end of 3 quarters was 6-1.
The
Cutthroats will have their hands full as they play another undefeated side in the Dragons (formerly the Predators) tonight
at Arena Sports in the last game before the holidays. If the Cutthroats should win, they will sit alone at the top of
the standings in the Rocky Mountain Conference.
12-15-2008 The Cutthroats crushed the Nah Nahs in their
home opener 7 - 4! After taking a 5 - 1 halftime lead, the Cutthroats passed around their opposition as they lookedto
hold possession and close out the game.
Gerardo
posted his first ever hat-trick as he dominated the Nah Nahs defense.
On a sad note, the Cutthroats lost a key player and team leader in Kellen Shepherd to a season ending ankle
injury. Kellen was taken to the hospital and somehow made it back to the stadium by the end of the game to watch his
team win and as his team exited the stadium he said "I'll see you guys at practice Tuesday". The organization
is hoping for a speedy recovery and we all look forward to when Kellen takes the field for the Cutthroats again.
